What do I mean by Really Recruit?

Recruit with Intention? With a Plan?

Up to now, you’ve probably managed with a patchwork approach, relying on friends, family, or contacts from your network. Maybe your current team includes:

• People you’ve worked with before,
• Candidates who approached you with relevant experience,
• Individuals offering a few hours a week around childcare,
• Or part-timers running their own side hustle.

Sound familiar?

So, what does your workforce really look like now?

• Are your team’s values aligned with yours?
• Do they even know what your values are, or your vision for the business?
• Are they working towards your goals, timelines, and standards?
• Can you rely on them, or are you constantly stepping in, covering for them, and making allowances?

And when things slip, lateness, missed deadlines, rude behaviour, too much time off, do you know how to address it effectively?

This is a common stage in business growth. You start small, win some work, and quickly bring in help, often from people you know. It feels faster and easier in the moment. But when your business starts to really take off, it’s time to stop and reassess.

Now’s the moment to get intentional.

It’s time to build a recruitment process that matches your ambition for growth.

I’ve worked with many business owners in this exact position. It’s understandable, we wear so many hats when growing a business. The priority has always been “get the work done and get paid.”

But once you see the cracks in your current team setup and do nothing about it, that’s when it becomes a problem.

Here’s what you need:

A recruitment process that consistently attracts and hires the right people, people with the right attitude as well as the right skills.

A recruitment process that reflects your business and culture Clear communication of expectations of company values and job descriptions to allow you to manage performance, standards and values.

And no, it’s not expensive, and it’s not hard to learn how to do it right.

We can do it for you, and we can teach you to do it for yourself. And do you know what? Whether you work with an outsourced recruiter or you do it yourselves – you still need a repeatable compliant recruitment process designed for your business and to match your growth ambitions. A process you can delegate.

At Better People, we offer 3 x 1-hour training sessions (online or in-person) to help you create your own Recruitment Blueprint.
